Join us for our free 2024-2025 Speaker Series on select afternoon performances during our Season. With each session led by one of ICTC’s distinguished speakers, the afternoon will begin at 1:30 pm with a dramaturgical presentation and moderated discussion to introduce the world of the play, followed by the matinee performance. After the show, join the speaker and select members of the cast for an enlightening Talk Back.

    Dorian’s Speaker: Meghan Callahan, Instructor of Theater/Founding Faculty at D’Youville University’s Master of Fine Arts in Dramatic Arts

    Join Dialect & Speech Coach Megan Callahan for conversation before and after the performance of “Crocodile Fever” about what goes on behind the scenes with this unique aspect of voice and character work. Megan will provide background on her process with actors and how she helps them to achieve a particular dialect or accent. She will also share about the evolution of dialect and speech work, how it enriches the creative experience for both actors and audience alike, and how dialects and accents are connected to their respective cultures. 

    • 1:30pm – The Speaker will give a 15-minute presentation prior to the show.
    • 2:00pm – Crocodile Fever matinee performance (approximately 2 hours, including one 15-minute intermission).
    • Post-show – There will be a 15-minute Talk Back session between the Guest Speaker, select cast members, and the audience.

    WHO’S WHO:

    Megan Callahan (Dialect & Speech Coach)

    Megan was last seen at ICTC as Connie in The Mai and is a director, dialect and speech coach, theater teacher, actor, and musician. Most recent Dialect & Speech credits at ICTC are Dorian and The Loved Ones. She has taught the Michael Chekhov technique for many years, including workshops in Ireland and throughout the United States. As a theater artist she has worked locally with ICTC, Shea’s 710, MusicalFare, Jewish Repertory Theatre, The Kavinoky, Theatre of Youth, Torn Space Theater, Raíces Theatre Company, Shakespeare in Delaware Park, Second Generation Theatre, Shea’s, BUA, Subversive Theatre Collective, University at Buffalo, and The Alt. She holds an MFA (Wayne State University/The Hilberry Repertory Theatre) and has a certificate of completion as a teacher in the Michael Chekhov Technique. Megan is currently a member of the founding faculty for Western New York’s first ever Master of Fine Arts in Acting at D’Youville University.
